An arch is a type of construction method that has been used since ancient times and ancient civilizations such as romans. It is a structure that supports weight and spans a space. There are various types of arches but the most significant ones are six basic styles that are oftenly used to frame and support doors, windows, porches, and other wall openings in homes and buildings in general: The Roman arch, strong and semi-circular; the segmental arch, semi-elliptical, forms a partial curve over a door or a window; the Tudor arch,with a large span limit; the flat arch, extends straight across an opening with no curvature, creating a horizontal emphasis; the Gothic arch, a variation of the roman arch ant the horseshoe Arch, that extends beyond a semi - circle.
